Suvin is an extra-long staple cotton with the fibre length to be spun soft and still hold tension on a shuttle loom. It is the reason our 21 oz cloth breaks in rather than fights back.

The Fibre
繊維
Staple length decides everything downstream
Short fibre must be twisted hard to hold together. Hard twist gives a flat, lifeless yarn and a cloth that goes shiny instead of fading. Long staple lets us under-twist, leave the slub in, and keep the surface alive.
It costs more per kilo and wastes more in combing. It also survives twelve indigo dips and sixty picks a minute without shedding — which is the only test that matters here.

01
選別
Hand classing
Every bale is opened and graded by eye and hand before it enters the blend. Short-staple lots are rejected outright rather than blended away.
02
紡績
Open-end + ring spinning
Warp yarn is ring-spun for strength and slub control; weft is spun open-end where a drier hand is wanted. Counts from 5s to 12s.
03
追跡
Lot traceability
Bale numbers follow the yarn into the rope-dye range and onto the roll ticket, so a finished metre can be traced back to the field.

Send us a hand feel, a target weight and a fade reference. We will trial three yarn counts and weave a metre of each.
